Creative but meaningless

Why Pie Hole?

Kenny: Put a pithy description of the zine here.

Inside This Issue

• The National Weather Service to create a slush fund with a chance of snow grifts.

• Hilton double-books entomology and etymology conferences. Scientists battle it out over the origin of the word "insect."

• Scientists bring back an extinct species to an environment that no longer exists rather than saving current species in danger of extinction. See page B7 for the compelling and completely rational reason they are doing this.

• Republicans opposing "sin tax" on junk food say, "The syntax the not and such as good junk food but."

• Indiana University Board of Trustees increases President Whitten's sniper budget.

• Monroe County, Indiana Sheriff Ruben Marté responds to criticism that there aren't enough criminals in the county to fill a proposed mega-jail. "Our widespread utilization of Flock surveillance cameras will ensure that ICE will round up enough immigrants to fill the beds. To avoid the public blemish of cooperating with Homeland Security, we simply share Flock data with other police departments and they hand it over to the feds. Rest assured, we will arrest our way out of this problem."

• Man at Indiana café walks into single-occupancy bathroom with a "women" sign on the door and is instantly transformed into a woman. "This just proves the danger of gender-mixing," says café owner Scotch Renault.

Letter from an Editor

Welcome to a thing you are reading. This issue is brought to you by the office of Indiana University

President-For-Life, Pamela "better dead than well-read" Whitten. If we've learned nothing from

history, it's that the path to freedom lies in the dismantling of higher education and the

re-writing of history to suit an ultra-nationalistic, authoritarian narrative in slavish obedience

to a cult leader. And that path will be lined with the bodies of the disenfranchised, the

powerless minorities, and student protesters. At Shut Yer Pie Hole!, we salute the leadership

of President Whitten in service to the great transition to democratic fascism that is the

manifest destiny of our nation. Pam knows when education has outlived its purpose and

when students have outlived their expiration dates, and she has the unaccountable courage

to put down the unruly and the dangerously independent thinkers who monstrously and

un-Americanly oppose genocide. After all, isn't opposition to state genocide just support of

genocide against the wealthy? Every dime spent on the purchase of this zine will support the

important work being done in our name at www.supportgenocide.org.

The real fun lies in fake AI videos based on user prompts: IA has a warehouse of costumes and props, including fake hands with six fingers. It's fun work, where you are free to give random, misleading or bad advice. You don't have to be licensed as a therapist or ordained as a priest if users think you are a machine; there are no laws governing your behavior!

Dueling Editorials!

Recently, the White House proposed forcing all federal workers to sign NDAs. This brings us to today's topic for our dueling editorials:

Should the government of the United States be run by an unaccountable fascist kleptocracy of incompetent and unqualified bureaucrats using their offices to illegally enrich themselves?

Felix Smidth

Yes! If we allowed laws to hinder our politicians, President Trump would be inmate #8647 in a CIA-run black box detention center and underground torture facility in Northern Virginia.

Pete Hegseth made it crystal clear that there should be no moral, ethical or legal strings tying the hands of our warriors as they commit war, and the President and his men, such as the former Kristi Noem, have pushed forth the noble idea that police and paramilitary forces must not be hampered by rules protecting the public. This country cannot be free if we allow freedom to run rampant.

Always remember: Crime in the service of personal interest is no crime at all.

And I add these words so than my editorial is not shorter than my opponent's.

Felix "Seymour" Smidth is the Ethics Officer of the Heritage Foundation and the author of When Genocide is Acceptable, available on Amazon.

Seymour Smidth

Duh! What my lamestream RINO friend Felix Smidth does not understand is that his Marxist Democrat illegal-alien loving policies will leave us without a country! President Trump and his golden family have every right to profit off the presidency, because as Richard Nixon asserted and Trump's Supreme Court codified, if a president does it, it's not illegal!

"People" like Felix Smidth would have us believe that the Iran war is a war even when the President tells us it isn't. That's like believing the hoax that gas prices are high. That is why Felix will be primaried out of a job this next cycle.

As for the dim-witted, unqualified bureaucrats who paid good money to have their criminal records erased and be given jobs in the Trump administration, those are exactly the people we need to replace the experienced deep-state egghead experts who ran things when the swamp waters were deceptively clear. Whichever nasty, low-IQ editor asked this question to begin with should be deported.

On Fashion

Not parody. Actual fashion news.

The war on pockets continues with the industry pushing micro-mini bags. Not micro bags, not mini bags, but micro-mini bags. These are high couture purses so small they hold a nickel, a bottle cap and possibly half of a used tissue. They are, however, highly practical, since women are not allowed to have pockets.

Sagging pants. You thought that everyone wearing these tripped to their deaths in the 2000s. You were right, but a new generation of people who hate clothes and humanity has brought them back, saggier than ever.

Finally, we report that college students are still wearing only black and white, in an attempt to screen out beauty and imagination and live in a 1930s NAZI propaganda film.

FoodARTS

In 1972, when the bar for American pizza was so low that Pizza Hut was considered gourmet, someone from Mother Bears, a pizza joint in Bloomington, Indiana, slept with a writer from People Magazine*. Though People Magazine was never known for culinary reviews, this encounter led to Mother Bears being declared the fourth-best pizza restaurant in the country. If only they had gone down on the People writer a little longer, we could have had the number one pizza restaurant in the country. Since that infamous date 40 or 50 years ago, Mother Bears has kept their “4th in the nation” sign up, regardless of how much better every subsequent pizza restaurant in town has been. Truly, a testament to lasting signage.

Religion

To stay relevant to the new wave of Christian nationalism, National Public Radio increased their focus on religious issues, with shows such as Faith Matters and Speaking of Faith. While we at Shut Yer Pie Hole! may be a bit behind the game of fruitlessly trying to placate right-wing Christians, we realize that this constituency will be our ruling masters within the next three years. With that respectful reverency in mind, we introduce the first entry in our soul-saving section, Religion.

Pentagon Eliminates 180 Faiths From Religions Recognized by the War Department

Hegseth’s newly revised list of religions recognized by the armed forces has been shortened to one official faith: Broism. “Broism is a big-tent, inclusive religion,” said Hegseth. “It’s includes all of the diverse branches of Christian Nationalism, and no girls allowed.”

Trump Books the Angel Harold for a Big, Beautiful Christmas

The Trump administration announced the return of Christmas, which all Americans know was cancelled under Biden. “Christmas will be bigger and better than ever,” said Trump. “In fact, we have plans for a summer Christmas this year. No president has ever been able to have more than one Christmas a year, they tried but only I could do it. We have also hired an angel named Harold, really the best angel, to sing, ‘Hark!’ Just like the Christmas carol in the bible, where he sings, 'Glory to my golden things.'"

Under Trump, Americans will no longer be forced to have low-flush toilets just because they dared to say, "Marry Christmass." and the great entertainer Murray Christmas will no longer be black-listed. "It's a great day for a 2-Christmas year," said Trump, holding up a copy of the Trump Bible, which foretells of Trump's arrival in Revelations, 13:11-18: And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.... And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.

The President has called this mark, which we shall all be blessed with, the Best Ever Apocalyptical Sign of Trump, or BEAST. The mark will be honored at every McDonald's franchise throughout the land with a substantial discount like you've never seen.

Restaurant Seen

Introduction

The Runcible Spoon

Introduction

Bloomington, Indiana has long had restaurants. In fact, the town joke is “Set a building on fire, and it’s probably a restaurant.” Here are some notable local eateries, all of which Yelp reviewers call “hidden gems.”

D’Angelos*

The Runcible Spoon

Introduction

They have an apostrophe right in their name. Not every restaurant does that.

A plain, nondescript restaurant interior. Everything tasted very good. I would like to come back to eat some of the other customers. They are old, but look tender.

*mispelled for artistic impact

The Runcible Spoon

The Runcible Spoon

The Runcible Spoon

They have a B in their name, not a P, as one might think.

Everybody likes the Spoon. Maybe it was better in the 80s, but so was music. Where are the fish that used to live in their restroom bathtub? I am looking for clues in the torn upholstery of their eerily long dining room bench.

The Uptown Café

Janko’s Little Zagreb

The Runcible Spoon

They have their own flag. Or is that the MIA-POW flag? It’s hard to tell.

The Uptown Café is an established establishment on Kirkwood Ave. Why 5th Street is also called Kirkwood, no one will ever know. Each time I walk out of the Uptown, there is a single marble rolling down the sidewalk in front of the door. Always the same marble.

Twelve Angry Menus

Janko’s Little Zagreb

Janko’s Little Zagreb

From farm to table, this organic, fair-trade vegan eatery never allows plastic to touch their food!

Recent recipient of the Plausible Denial Culinary Award, this Michigan 5-star restaurant is in Bloomington. I left my watch there once, and I don’t even own a watch.

Janko’s Little Zagreb

Janko’s Little Zagreb

Janko’s Little Zagreb

A steak restaurant with a really good veggie burger. Is it "Janko's" or "Little Zagrebs"? Apparently, both.

I’ve never tasted their meat dishes. I wonder if they deliver to car washes?

Cliché COLUMN

How to Know if You're in a Movie or on TV

• If you are with someone who takes a sip of coffee and immediately makes a face that suggests both trauma and nostalgia, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you go to your tech-friend and they spend five seconds furiously typing on a random laptop and then announce that they have hacked into the evil corporation that is trying to kill you, I sure hope you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you have mutual hatred towards someone but are forced to share a single bed in a situation that could easily have provided two beds, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If a photograph is shown and someone says “That’s impossible… that photo was destroyed,” you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you point a gun at a villain and he smirks at you and tells you that you don't have the balls to pull the trigger, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you are about to be killed by someone you just discovered is the bad guy and you tell him that he'll never get away with this, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If someone says, “I have a bad feeling about this,” and everyone continues doing the exact thing they were just warned about, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If somebody says, "I'm too old for this shit," you are in a movie or on TV.

• If a villain has the opportunity to finish off the hero but instead decides to deliver a long speech explaining their entire emotional backstory, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you have a firefight in which you kill dozens of soldiers from the other side and when they capture you, they don't kill you in return, but bring you to see their leader, you are in a Star Wars spin-off.

• If the person you're driving with takes apart their cell phone and smashes it so they can't be tracked, you are in a movie or on TV.

• In real life, vicious monsters who torture and bite the heads off their victims are beautiful and furry, like your cats. So if you see an ugly, horrifying monster, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you see someone load, cock and aim their rifle in slow motion, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If none of the signs at a rally are hand-written, and they are all generic messages devoid of puns or humor, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If being shot results in just a spot of red, or a person falling over without vast quantities of blood gushing out, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you are in a retirement community and absolutely no one uses a cane or a walker, and there happen to be murders taking place, you are in a movie or on TV.

• If you attend a peaceful protest and snipers posted on a rooftop aim their loaded rifles at you, you are at Indiana University.
